Gunbuster episode 6 may or may not or may be the greatest anime episode of all time.
Being the endlessly uncertain man I am, I could not exactly say for sure, but I can't say that a better episode exactly comes to mind. One piece fan letter may give it some kind of run for it's money (I am in fact not too good for one piece). Maybe some episode or another of the Ruroken kyoto arc. Episode 41 of
Gundam 0079
is pretty great. Episode 12 of
Bakemonogatari
, Episode 4 of
Otorimonogatari
, or the final episode of
Koimonogatari
. The first episode of
Futakoi Alternative
made me lose my mind. Maybe even a somewhat more normie take with the final episode of Code Geass.
I can think of a number of really good episodes, but I wouldn't say any of them are as a whole better than episode 6 of Gunbuster.
At present I can't recall any interesting story about Gunbuster, I just watched it in october of 2024, in a single day. It's a great show though, you need to watch it or else.
